Library accelerator 2020 (henceforth shortened LA) is a computer program that makes many of your paid-version Kontakt™ sample libraries load faster – often almost instantaneously.
The slow loading of some libraries is a common problem with older, non-player libraries. Several methods have been suggested, including batch resave (a function of Kontakt™), disabling virus detection, and praying. Disabling virus protection may produce a minimal speedup, but is not advisable due to lessened security. Batch resave will produce a dramatic short-timespan improvement, which will last for some time before other disk activity invalidates system and application caches. It’s effect will be completely gone after the next computer restart.
Not so with LA. LA will re-arrange and pack your slow-loading libraries so that the effect is permanent: libraries load consistently practically instantaneously, time and time again, across computer restarts.
First, make sure that you have performed a batch resave opaeration on your library at least once. Do this to make sure that your library is correctly configured for your platform (Windows or Mac). There are helpful videos about batch resave on Youtube. After this, restart your computer to make sure that the computer's disk cache is cleared. Only then can you reliably assess the true loading performance of your library's instruments. When evaluating first-time loading delay, load each instrument only once. A second load will always be much faster, as most of the instrument is now in your computer's disk cache and does not need to be reloaded from disk.
A library's loading time will probably be shortened by Library Accelerator when:
